MyHealios - Connected Care
Improve patient outcomes in chronic conditions by leveraging technology
MyHealios is a for-profit organization which specializes in developing and implementing connected care solutions for disabling chronic illnesses. We aim to bridge the gap between inpatient and outpatient care, or even between doctor's appointments.
Connected care combines telehealth services, mhealth (or mobile technology for health care) and online cognitive behavioral therapy or psychoeducation. It aims to serve chronically ill patients by bridging the care and information gap between inpatient and outpatient settings or between doctor’s appointments, as patients try to adapt and learn to live with their conditions.
Providers are able to track their patient progress, symptom development and possibly identify early signs of relapse and patient benefit from the support and skills they receive remotely when they want it knowing that the interaction will be shared with their own clinical team.

It combines 1, 2 or 3 of the below component which are regarded as the foundational elements of connected care.
- Mobile Technology devices (mHealth)
- Telehealth services
- Online cognitive behavioral therapy or psychoeducational support (preferably manualized)
What is mHealth?
mHealth (or mobile health) is a general term for the use of mobile phones and other wireless technology in medical care. The most common application of mHealth is the use of mobile phones and communication devices to educate consumers about preventive health care services or help consumer monitor their condition via surveys or diaries.
What is Telehealth or Telehealth services?
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services defines telehealth as the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support and promote long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health and health administration. Technologies include videoconferencing, the internet, store-and-forward imaging, streaming media, and terrestrial and wireless communications.
MyHealios is an award-winning telehealth services company that provides online cognitive behavioral therapy or psychoeducation sessions by highly skilled clinicians remotely, one-on-one, in an interactive format using videoconference or over the telephone.
What is online cognitive behavioral therapy?
Through our behavioural family therapy, we aim to change behaviour to enable patients to then adhere to treatment regimes, registries/trials and diet/exercise regimes which may be delivered via new digital health technologies.
CBT is based on the idea that your thoughts, linked to an external stimuli, are what causes your feelings and behaviors. It is how you interpret and perceive that stimuli whch will drive your emotions or behavior. CBT can help change the way you think about a specific stimuli, so that you feel and act better, even if the situation hasn’t changed.
What is psychoeducation?
Psychoeducation refers to the process of providing education and information to those seeking or receiving mental health services, such as people diagnosed with mental health conditions (or life-threatening/terminal illnesses) and their family members.
A recent project has seen MyHealios partner with a US based charity to develop the first combined biosensor/wearables and telehealth platform for chronic patients with sleep disorders. The project is called Circady and you can review it online: www.circady.com
The combined platform will provide telehealth delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) using mobile, wearable and home sensor technologies to drive personalized and precision-driven feedback to the therapist and the patient alike to deliver data-driven improved outcomes.
